Nikolay Onischenko

Nikolay Onischenko (born in 1979) graduated from the Arts and Graphics Department of Voronezh State Pedagogical University and Moscow Institute of Contemporary Art. He works primarily with graphics and video addressing the issues of human changes and perceptions amid new technologies and sociopolitical factors. Minimalistic visual language and sparse narrative are the artist’s hallmarks. His visual narrative often contains episodes, subjects or architecture of everyday life but in an unusual, mystical setting or a weird course of events.

His projects exhibited in such important public spaces like Russian Museum, State Tretyakov Gallery, Manezh Central Exhibition Hall, State Center for Contemporary Art, Perm Museum for Contemporary Art and many others, as well as at the 4th Biennale for Young Art, 7th Moscow International Biennale of Contemporary Art. Nikolay’s works are held in the Russian Museum, Russian and European private collections.
